County Uneven ages xc 2013
A great day for the club with some great individual and team performances. Orla Deegan got the ball rolling with a superb run leading from the gun and looking good for gold until a late surge from a United Striders athlete snatched it from her on the line. All our under 9 girls ran super. Next up the boys U9's and not to be outdone by the girls again we had a leader from the start with Jay Hogan taking up the running and just about holding off a late sprint from a U.S. athlete, David Kirwan had a fantatic run to finish 3rd.and again all our U9 boys gave it there all .With no U11 girls our focus shifted to the U11 boys and the run of the day from Joe Byrne who led from gun to tape to take the victory. Seamie Kavanagh came through well for 5th and good running for Conor Doyle, Dean Elliot and Conor Holloway saw SBR claim team silver. The U13 girls team of Anna Kavanagh, Muireann Deegan and Joley Gibney were unlucky to just miss out in medals. Back to the boys and Josh Hogan and Gavin Cousins both showed well in the U13's with Josh coming away with the victory and Gavin finising 6th. Last up were the U15 Boys and SBR dominated this race from start to finish with 4 in the top 6 but somehow the victory was cruelly taken from James Boland on the line after he had done much of the running. Thomas Breen had a very good run for 3rd, William Bolger 4th and Owen Murphy 6th with the team claiming Gold. Full results can be found here. PHOTOS
The focus now shifts to the Leinsters on 27th in Dunboyne, Co. Meath, we will be traveling up by bus and would ask all interested in coming on the bus to let us know at training. |

Well done to all who competed in the county track and field championships 2013. Over the course of the two weekends S.B.R. came away with medals. Which is a fantastic achievement for our first year. Even more encouraging than the medals were the number of kids who participated with over 40 between both weekends.
A hugh thank you to all the parents who helped out on both dasy. |
